What Do the Lib Dems think about HIPs?

Paul Hajek | 15 Jun 2009

Well, a good pointer was included in the latest edition of Property in Practice magazine from the Law Society Property Section

It included extracts from an interview with  Vince Cable MP the Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman

Vince Cable is widely respected as the man who foretold the global economic crisis and has recently published a book entitled “The Storm: The world economic crisis and what it means”

When asked about what he thought about Home Information Packs (HIPs), his view was not entirely startling but, one that represented common sense. He felt that HIPs were “badly timed and have added extra cost and friction”.  Nevertheless, he also considered that “now they’re here, it’s not sensible to abandon them”.
